Symphony Math adjusts performance settings on web browsers by automatically detection. On some machines, this decision can result in poor performance, especially in the case of issues with WebGL. To force an alternate type of display renderer, use the program Settings box:
1) After signing in, press the gear icon to access the program Settings.
2) Select 'Force Canvas' from the Display Renderer category.
3) Sign out of Symphony Math, and reload the page to activate the new setting.
The demonstration below shows Steps 1 and 2.
NOTES:
The Display Renderer category has two options:
1) Auto-Detect: This is the default option, and will detect whether the browser and machine can run Symphony Math using the (usually) preferred WebGL renderer.
2) Force Canvas: This will force Symphony Math to run in the fallback mode of 'Canvas', supported by most web browsers and less processor-intensive.
Reload the Page after Selection
After selecting a choice above, reload the Symphony Math web page to apply the setting. The setting will be applied on all future sessions of use on this computer.
Option 2: Clear Temporary Browser Files
On occasion, corruption of files may cause performance issues. A typical symptom is that Symphony Math seems to run 'in slow motion'. Clearing the browser cache may fix this problem. Please note that it is NOT necessary to clear cookies and other login information to other web sites. Temporary files are used to speed performance by keeping a copy of images, sounds, etc. on your computer, rather than downloading this content on each use. Clearing your temporary files will necessitate a new download of this content, but will not disrupt any saved passwords to sites that you visit.
